Crafted by the esteemed golf course architect Tom Fazio, The Glen Club stands as an impressive marvel of engineering.
Previously a Naval Air Base for over 70 years, characterized by runways and a mere three-foot elevation change, the land has undergone a breathtaking metamorphosis. Today, it showcases rolling berms, captivating vistas, and seamlessly integrated transitions, presenting a dynamic terrain.
The course layout boasts dramatic elevation shifts, reaching up to 40 feet on select holes, adorned with mature trees, natural expanses, tranquil lakes, and meandering streams. Spanning across 75 acres, native prairie grasses gracefully flow throughout the landscape.
Each remarkable par 3 hole aligns with a distinct compass point, while the par 5s stand bold yet offer ample driving spaces and generous bailout areas. From short and sweet to long and formidable, the par 4s provide diverse challenges, featuring hallmark Fazio design elements like perched greens bordered by bunkers and awe-inspiring peninsula greens threatened by water hazards.
The climactic 18th hole emerges as a picturesque gem, adorned with dual water features and strategically positioned bunkers that demand precision and strategic maneuvering from one secure spot to the next. Concluding the round at the 18th green leaves an enduring impression of a remarkable test of skill amid a landscape brimming with memorable golfing experiences.
